    About

I enjoyed the previous south bay shawl, but wasn't 100% happy with the acrylic yarn I used. This time I used a higher-end, sport weight pima cotton. The drape is lovely with this yarn, and there's a nice sheen to it that the photo doesn't really capture. I did my own thing on the edge again, adding some picot trim. I also added a few rows to make it a larger shawl than the pattern called for.

Thank you! It's called the South Bay Shawlette, and you can find it on the Lion Brand yarn website.

Beautiful work! Love them all. Great designs. Especially neckwarmers! Never watched Willy Winks so I must be a little older (57) but the little girl had to have been brave, full of courage as the name has fit my first Cocker Spaniel then one I came upon, by accident, that had been severely abused and his rescuer had named him Beau, being short for Beauregard. After 20+ years of refusing to have another Cocker out of loyalty to first Beau, I suddenly became obsessed with finding one, although I did not need an additional dog. Already had three. When I found this one, I didn't know his name but knew he was meant to be mine for whatever reason. When the foster mom told me his name, I cried like a baby ... my original Beauregard knew another Beau needed me and that's why the urgency. Weird, Beauregard always wore a bandana that same blueberry shade.

Thanks for your kind words, and for sharing your story about Beau 1 and 1 - sometimes things are just mean to be :)

I knew I was attracted to this shawl for a reason; it's also made with Cascade Ultra Pima! Very elegant and yet comforting!
