    About

I bought this yarn and pattern about two years ago in order to take part in a knit a long. I live in Zimbabwe and the yarn eventually arrived about a month after the knit a long had ended! By then I had started on another project and so the yarn was relegated to the cupboard. I picked it up earlier this year but it was the first top down jersey that I had attempted. I found it difficult initially to fully grasp what I was supposed to do. However, one Sunday afternoon I decided to focus fully and what do you know, I cracked it! Once started it has been a dream and I am encouraging all my friends to try the pattern.

Finally finished this sweater. I ended up making the sleeves on straight needles rather than in the round. I also chose to do the ribbed neck rather than reverse stocking stitch. Very pleased with how the sweater turned out. Perfect size too.

Just looking at this pattern - the beginning is definitely fiddly. I have used King Cotton Bamboo Cotton DK on other knits and it wears and washes really well.

Well done Chris, I am still only halfway down the first sleeve and I totally agree with you about the four needles. I ended up using my circular needle as if is was two needles and now I am knitting the sleeve on two straight needles and then I will stitch the arm seam up. Problem is now we are heading into spring/summer and it is heating up fast so my desire to knit drops off rapidly. I shall persevere. Hope you have posted a picture.

Yes good idea as may make sleeves three quarter anyway.

Nice colours. I’ve got to the length the pattern suggests for the body but want to make it longer. I think I’m going to move onto the sleeves and finish them as I don’t want run out of yarn. Then I’ll go back to the body and finish that.

I am half way through knitting this jumper and also initially found really tricky but very easy once you get going. Also using the King Cole Bamboo which looks beautiful.

How did you find the bamboo/cotton yarn to knit, wash and wear? I’m always looking for a good yarn for the hot climate my grand daughters live in. Love the colours.

It’s great to knit with. I’ve yet to finish the jumper so I don’t know about the washing and wearing.
