    About

I had lots of odd balls of wool in various bags all over the house so decided to try and use them up. I did buy two extra balls of cream and light grey Aran to do a couple of Aran cable panels. I also used the cream Aran to knit the edging which is not the same as the pattern but is easy to do. Start with 12 stitches in garter stitch and decrease every other row, slipping the first stitch of the row on the decrease row and the return row to give an even finish. Reduce the stitches to 7 stitches and then increase again back up to 12. It's a 10 row increase and decrease and you then get a wavy edge on one side.

    Pattern

    Afghan throw

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 5.00mm (US 8) 80cm

    Measurements

Notes: The pattern calls for 12 panels and the quantity of yarn used is 200gms of each of the four colours. As I was using up old wool I made the blanket bigger and the measurements of the one I knit was 7 10" panels by 5 10" panels. You can make it as large as you like you just have to make at least two panels of each pattern. I made four basket weave ones to be the corners.
