    About

Got braids on, and my head 'grew' such that I couldn't wear any of my shop-bought hats. So, I thought to knit my first hat.

    Pattern

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 4.50mm (US 7) 40cm
    • Circular 3.25mm (US 3) 40cm

    Accessories

Other : Scrap yarn as stitch markers

    Measurements

One size only: 20" head circumference

Notes: I used a 3.5mm needle for the first 2 or so rounds of the 2x2 ribbing, hoping to achieve a 22" circumference, then 3.25mm.

I also used the stretchy cast on method.

    22.02.17
Finished at the end of January, put it in the washing machine at hand wash, and forgot to turn off the 'spin'. Came out semi-felted, with no stretch at the ribbed band. Better luck next time, but I quite like it all the same.

Great. I was a bit scared at first because I hadn't knit anything quite like this (been only being knitting off and on for a year), but I'm loving it.
