A Neater Sock

I made this for the Handyman's posh socks

    About

A more fitted sock for the Handyman rather than the usual looser working sock, which allows for a second pair underneath. These socks, most likely, will be working socks for his outdoor projects, just for the warmer weather when 2 pairs of socks in his boots are too much.

Update: socks finished, however they don't match. Very disappointed that despite matching up all the way through until heel, the yarn then changed its stripe pattern. This is the second time this has happened with Paintbox Yarns Socks, the first time was manageable as I cut the yarn and wound on until I found pattern resumed. This time the striping was completely different.
Luckily the Handyman doesn't mind as much as I do!

I have just had the same problem with paintbox yarn. Mine also changed stripe pattern at the heel and I then couldn't match the stripes. Like you I wound off some of the yarn but couldn't match it up again. I have only made them for me so it doesn't matter but disappointing. However I do like the colour of the socks you have knitted.

Hi Rosemary. Very disappointing when such a lot goes into making a pair of matched socks. I had the problem twice and then went back to LoveKnitting. They sent me a replacement ball, but more importnatly they are now aware of the problem.

@Susan@Hollygrove: I too contacted Love knitting but unfortunately they told me it was the nature of the yarn so therefore could not give me a refund. Never mind I will know for the future.

Sent a complaint to the LoveKnitting team re the change of striping issue and got a positive and helpful response. They offered money back or a free ball of Paintbox Socks yarn. I've opted for the yarn but in a pixel shade - removing potential striping issues. Good response LoveKnitting!
