By Ollie and Bella

What You'll Need:

  paintbox yarn

Paintbox Yarns Simply DK

These are the yarns that I used for my blanket, but you can substitute any of the 60 shades of Paintbox Yarns Simply DK. That's the great thing about this line, if one colour is out of stock, or if you'd prefer a different shade, there is always another option that will work! 147- Pansy Purple  (rnds 1-3) 145- Pale Lilac (rnds 4-6) 138- Sky Blue  (rnds 7-9) 132- Washed Teal  (rnds10-12) 125- Spearmint Green (rnds 13-15) 121- Daffodil Yellow (rnds 16-18) 123- Mustard Yellow (rnds 19-21) 118- Seville Orange (rnds 22-24) 113- Rose Red (rnds  25-27) 108- Light Caramel (rnds 28-30)

Hints-

Each colour is used for 3 rounds for the main granny square pattern and then used again for the edging. The edging is a simple round of double crochet in each shade and then finished off with a bobble stitch using Light caramel (108)

Note: This pattern is written using UK terms

Let’s start!

Joining new colours is simple,  make a slip knot on your hook with the next colour and join in a corner space. Place your hook through the corner space and join with a slip stitch. It’s that quick and easy!

Rnds 4-30 Continue working future rounds as before. Remember to work all corners as follows- 3tr, ch2, 3tr. Then 3tr into each of the ch1 spaces, remembering to ch1 either side of the 3trs.

Step 1

Using the same colour sequence as the main pattern, double crochet in each stitch around making sure you work 3-4 dc in each corner to give a nice neat finish.

Step 2

Using shade 108 (Light Caramel) attach yarn with a dc, into any st, chain 6, yarn over and working into the 3rd ch from hook, pull up loop, yarn over and through 2 loops on your hook. There should be 2 loops remaining, continue this another 2 times until you have 4 loops on your. Yarn over and pull through all loops on your hook. Ch3, copy this process again but this time working into the top of the first half of the bobble you just made. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on hook. Join with sl st into the bottom of the first half of the bobble. You should have a full bobble now! Ch3, miss 3 stitches, dc into the next.
