Product Details
A variation of the spike stitch adds a chain-look stripe detail to this classic beanie. The design for intermediate crocheters is finished with chunky ribbing created by post stitches.
The wide ribbing is worked on a smaller hook for a more "ribby" appearance. The ribbing has 2 in./5 cm of negative ease for a snug, but not tight, fit.
Spike Stripe is crocheted from the top in joined rounds. The pattern offers written instructions using U.S. crochet terms, and it includes a one-page tutorial on how to work the hdc (U.K. half treble) spike stitch.
