    Penny's mummy liked her daughters mermaid tailblanket so much she asked me to knit her one for her birthday. Luckily the pattern gives instructions for an adult blanket as well as a childs. Sian wanted a purple coloured tail but I decided that a marble effect would give more interest to the finished garment and there would be no reason to embellish it.

    Measurements

    Notes: I knitted the fin of the tail on size 9mm straight needles, to make it larger, which may explain why I needed over 600g of yarn. I only needed a small amount of the fourth ball of yarn: less than 50g.

        @Lucy S: I have to admit that I have no patience, which is why my projects are usually small but my daughter gave me 'that look' when she asked could I knit her one for her birthday. I just could not refuse.
