I loved developing this design! I wanted a cardigan that looked like it was a prized find in a vintage bazaar. Inspired very much by the film Amelie, I was delighted with the finished result. I made it using Rowan Felted Tweed Aran yarn, perfect for an aged looked, with the little flecks of colour throughout.
I used a selection of vintage brass buttons all different to add to the quirky character of the design. I am now working on a variation to this design. I am using Rowan Kidsilk Haze yarn, worked double for the main colour and single for the contrasting stripe, still using 5.5mm needles it is giving a lovely light and open fabric, perfect for spring, light and airy but still warm.
I will share images as I go along, rather than a cardigan i will make it as a sweater, which is really easy to do, all you have to do is make two backs and the rest will be the same!
Really delighted with the result, has worked exactly to tension and fits perfectly!
