    About

I wanted to have a small project and something that I could make for myself, but which might be a useful pattern to make as a gift in the future. In the event, it took me rather longer than I had anticipated owing to the colour work and darning in the ends on completion! The finished result, however, is quite pleasing and it makes a nice addition to the conservatory, especially as we live in the country and often have sheep on our field.
I used the colours suggested in the pattern. I couldn't find all of them listed when I came to put the project on line, but basically any DK yarn should be fine as long as it knits to the same tension. I think I have enough left to make a second cushion!

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3)
    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6)
    • Single Point 4.00mm (US 6)

    Accessories

    • Buttons

    Measurements

    45cm x 45cm

Notes: I didn't make any adjustments - just knitted to the pattern and then bought a cushion pad to fit. My version ended up rather larger than the measurements given on the pattern, but I used the needles suggested in the pattern. Normally, I change to a needle size smaller to achieve the right tension, but as this was a cushion cover and not a garment, the tension did not need to be perfect.

Love your cushion, we had our own sheep, so it brings back lovely memories. Well done. JEan M

Thank you. If you can knit, you can do it, I'm sure! Don't be put off trying; it's not difficult but just needs a bit of patience and I'm sure you'll get there and enjoy not making it and the finished result. Good luck!
