    About

I fell in love with the design!

The beaded spine is so unusual and the lace edge is so beautiful. I bought the yarn then realised it is finer than suggested in the pattern, luckily the designer suggested I use slighltly smaller needles than specified and it worked a treat. I used 1,125 Miyuki Dark Wine Metallic seed beads - phew! I haven't blocked this yet, but I still think it looks lovely.

The pattern is very well written (row by row instructions - which I used - and charted). I recommend this pattern, which as well as being easy to follow has lots of info for changing the size.

Thank you Alison! I wear this shawl a lot, it has a wonderful drape and is very 'me'! The pattern is excellent, if you're thinking of making one too.

Are you thinking of making your own Wild Poppies shawl? I have two options for yarn and beads for another one - just waiting for the right time (and enough time) when other new projects aren't calling me!

Thank you so much Josephine. Wild Poppies is a lovely pattern and very well written. The Fyberspates Gleem Lace was good to work with and I've used it on several other projects since knitting this and always been happy. This was my first time beading and I LOVED it!

Thank you! The extra weight of the beads gives shawls fantastic drape (and of course extra sparkle) and I love knitting with them.
