    About

I had just four skeins of this luscious yarn in my cupboard and wanted to make sure that I didn't waste a single ounce of it so devised this pretty little cardigan, safe in the knowledge that I wouldn't have to worry about running out of yarn before I'd finished. The bodice works up really quickly in the pretty textured stitch, with every right side row plain knit and the button and buttonhole borders knitted in at the same time. Shoulders are joined using a 3 needle bind-off, then the sleeves are picked up and knitted and worked in a VERY clever way which I thought up to add sleevehead shaping and avoid excess fabric. Once the really short bodice side seams are sewn up (these are the only (10cm/4in) sewn seams in the whole garment, the body of the cardigan is picked up and knitted down from the eye-catching waist band to the lovely double rib hem. Side seam shaping adds just a hint of tailoring and the finished cardigan is complete upon cast-off!
