I have very few plain vanilla socks and this project is just that. Simple toe-up, two-at-a-time, 64 stitch (size medium) sock. I added blue accents to keep the knitting interesting and used a fish-lips-kiss heel.
Thank you so much! These are just a plain stockinette sock, you can use any pattern that you like and then just add color rows that you like. The pattern near the toe is just an alternating color pattern (1 stitch white, 1 stitch blue, white, blue all around and the next row would start with blue yarn, white yarn, blue, white around. Alternating the two rows give a checkered pattern). I knit these toe-up. Once I finished the heel (any method you like), I knit above the finished heel to a point where I thought I'd like the leg stripes (over the ankle), did 4 rows blue, 6 white, 10 blue, 6 white and 4 blue, then back to white yarn for about 8 rows and started a k2,p2 rib for about 1.5 inches.
