The pattern is well written, with both chart and written instructions, and stitch count given at the end of each row. Over the years I have seen a LOT of people complain in various forums when there isn’t a stitch count given at the end of each row in a pattern, So this will definitely make a lot of people happy.
The shawl was knit as written, with no alterations, and I used the written instructions only.
The only time I normally use a chart is when I find the written instructions confusing or unclear, but these were very well written, and I didn’t need to refer to the chart for any clarification.
Total weight of yarn used was 168 g.
Total length used was 706 m.
This was a nice, easy knit, even the lace section. Once you knew what the row repeat was for each row of the lace, it was simple to follow. I managed to binge watch all 7 seasons of Deep Space Nine while knitting the shawl.
This would be a great choice for someone new to lace knitting.
