      I am in the middle of knitting my first pair of socks and they don't look anywhere near as good as yours, I think I need lots and lots of practice, I got the toe up bit right I lost the plot when I got to the heel part ugh, yours is so neat.

        Hi Val, I knit from the top down but we'll both end up with similar looking socks. This was pair number 60 and I've been sock knitting for just over 2 years. I think it took me till about pair number 3 before I could really say I knew what I was doing. Stick with it, it will become easier and neater. I've started pair number 61 tonight - no hope for me, sock addict!
