Semi-Circular Scarf

I made this for myself (to practice new techniques with unfamiliar yarn).

    About

This may be the weirdest thing I've ever knit! I started this pattern with the wrong size needles and too little yarn. My goal was to learn how to knit a semi-circular shawl, and practice the most basic lace stitch (yarn overs). Fortunately, this pattern lent itself well to being downsized from a shawl to a scarf. The sparkly yarn does not photograph well, but it lends a bit of whimsy to this cozy winter garment.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.75mm (US 5) 80cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
Other : I cast off with Size 8 needles to give the circular edge a bit more ease than the Size 5 needles used on the rest of the project. Also, the finished garment requires blocking! I used blocking mats and pin kit to 'stretch' the damp scarf into shape.

    Measurements

Notes: Whoops! I used the wrong size needles on this project, and less yarn than the pattern called for, so it turned out smaller than intended. My finished scarf was 16" deep and 38" across the top.
