    About

My second blanket knitted “in the round” and I’m hooked!

This blanket was worked seamlessly in one piece from the center out. The main 18-round pattern consisted of 2-stitch twists paired with yarn-over increases every other round to create the swirling silhouette. From these twists grew offshoots of little bobbled branches.

Once the pattern was established, the strategic placement of stitch markers minimized the need to count stitches for the remainder of the pattern. Lastly, a lacy chain loop bind-off was used to trim the outer edge.

After knitting, the only finishing required was running the beginning yarn tail through the cast-on stitches to close the center.

I used double point needles for the first 4”, then switched to a circular needle for the remainder.

I really enjoyed knitting this pattern and think it would be classic as a full-sized afghan in natural worsted wool.
