The new baby's mum is from Sweden and she did not want a lacy blue blanket but something modern and bright! I have worked this pattern before and like it but this time I adjusted it slightly to give a border in the round and no rough edges for baby.
I love them Vix, the colours, the designs they are stunning. Sometimes you are talking to Liz or Sandra about different designs and I had no idea what they were then I just saw them on Traceys postings.😊wow Vix incredible and you ladies are so talented to be able to make such amazing things.😊😊
Hi Jacquie, I think the trick with edges is not to pick up too many stitches along the row ends else you get a frill. Too few stitches and it pulls. I rate this particular design as for intermediate because unlike some of the other patterns I've done the designer didn't give you the stitch counts for the edges. After much trial and error 173 along each long side seemed to fit.
Thanks. The pattern lends itself to a baby blanket because you end up with a neat stripey pattern on the reverse with no unsightly loops that can catch baby fingers.
