    About

These cardigans were made using the free Ellie pattern by Berroco (designed by Maureen Basher) (http://www.berroco.com/patterns/ellie).

The cardigans were made in sizes 2 and 4, using the recommended yarn (Berroco Comfort DK, 3 balls of Rosebud (2723) and 4 balls of Teaberry (2730)) and hook sizes 4.5mm and 5.0mm. There was only a tiny amount of yarn left over.
The pattern states it requires an intermediate skill level, and it was relatively easy to follow, just watch for a few errors – one of these being the sleeve length instructions which differ between the text and the diagram (follow the text). The other errors are minor and easily avoided if you are careful to keep the stitch pattern constant.
I am very happy with the finished cardigans as they are very pretty, and have a great texture and a nice soft finish.

Hi I’ve tried making this several times with no luck! Are you able to point out where the errors are as I can’t see any pattern developing! Plus what rows make up the pattern. It wasn’t very clear. Thank you for any help as I keep looking at this pattern but just can’t make it work!

        Hi Narelle
I made these a few years ago. Does reading through the comments below offer any help?

@Jenny Mc: thank you for replying! So much appreciated! Replies sort of make sense but I suspect the mistakes are too much for a beginner to work out! I wrote to the designer but they never replied! I just wish I had the knowledge to work out the pattern rows! Ie what rows create the pattern! This isn’t clear at all in the pattern.

@Jenny Mc: Thank you for answering Jenny, appreciated.
Managed to solve it as need at least 12 rows for sleeve cap to fit into sleeve space. So .....dc every RS row, both ends worked out well

        Hi Jackie
I made these several months ago so don't really remember. Looking at the pattern, row 5 has to be repeated every 1/2" and the stitch pattern is basically as per rows 2 & 3. So I think you repeat rows 2-5 until the piece measures the required length. Hope this helps.
