Bought this wool from Hobbycraft because of colour and softness. DK by Hayfield Bonus, colour Aran. This pattern is knitted from neck to hemline all in one piece.
Hi Penelope, this is an adorable little dress that I and another friend have tried and tried to knit but unfortunately we both seemed to have run into the same snag in the pattern whereas we could only get to row 5 of the lace and then, mistake after mistake. we did so much frogging and retrying that we gave up on the idea and just made our own skirt patterns. I should say my friend lives overseas while I am based here in Australia. the pattern and/or graph seems to be missing something which would not enable us to progress any further than the 5th row. Hoping you can fix this minor problem as I know we both loved the dress,
Thanks
Hi Robyn. I understand totally as this pattern was difficult for me to follow also. After perseverance and patience I realised it was my own fault every time. Eventually I overcame what I was doing incorrectly and managed to complete the dress by following the instructions given. The pattern is correct as far as I am aware.
Sorry for not being of further help to you. Regards
Hi I'm wondering if you can help me with this pattern. On the main body of the skirt do you do the knit rows on the right side or the wrong side? My pattern doesn't look anything like the picture...
And as you're yarning over, it obviously increases the stitches right? So every row won't end on the last step everytime? If that makes sense
Anyway I've been knitting for a while but getting back into different pattern instructions so I'm confused. Any help would be much appreciated xx
Hi Laura. I apologise for late reply. I will have to look at the pattern again more fully. If I recall the beginning few rows are purl on the right side.
Yes - each row 'stitch count' fluctuates on the yo "rows".
I must admit I did not find this pattern that easy. Once got through/overcame the first pattern repeat understanding of the pattern became clearer. Do not give up. It really is a lovely design. Hope this helps you. Regards Penny.
Started with intention of completing same day ????Got distracted with a surprise invitation to a 'get together' so did not accomplished very much. Try again today ❣️????
