    About

I’ve been a bit on the quiet side lately and I apologise. I’ve been suffering dreadful insomnia and nights and days have just been a bit of a blur. I couldn’t concentrate properly.

Finally I’ve been able to sleep somewhat and I now feel refreshed enough to hit the hook and yarn again.

This is the first item I’ve made for a while from a yarn cake. It’s a Papatya Cake and was very soft to work with.

I used one cake ( 540m) of these gorgeous blues and grey shades. It’s a blend of 80% Premium Acrylic and 20% Merino Wool. The border was done with Robin DK in Aqua.

I was going to used a second cake but it looked weird, so I kept it to one. It’s ended up a bit smaller than the shawls I usually make, 90cm across. I didn’t cut the yarn at all and I crocheted as it came from the cake.

I’m happy with the end result.
