One of my favorite patterns – with striking results!
This Scarf was crocheted from corner-to-corner and worked up beautifully in the gradient that I chose. Once the initial corner was made, the pattern turned into a 9-row repeat which stitched up quickly in double crochet mesh. After the first few repeats, I was able to memorize the pattern, occasionally glancing at previous rows to confirm placement of each new increase. (The puff stitch “spines” at the center of each Petal also served as checkpoints to ensure that I was reading the pattern correctly.) Five rows of the 9-row repeat were worked over a small number of stitches and formed the Petal Tip. Once the Tip was completed, slip stitches were worked along the edge of it to reposition the yarn so that the main body could continue without needing to cut-and-join for each Petal. Score!
Once the stitching was completed, I wet blocked the entire piece…..and I’m thrilled with everything about it!
