I have so many leftovers bits and pieces of 8ply yarn so I decided to do something useful wiht them and knit a blanket. I was inspired by the blankets my mum used to knit out of leftovers and old pulled-down garments, which seem so steeped in memory.
This blanket made up of all my leftovers is also steeped in memories. Each square I knit reminds me of the original garment and in many cases adventures and good times our family has shared together whilst someone was wearing the garment. And so the name Memory Blanket was borne for my approach to the mitred square blanket.
