    About

    In July 2015 I had emergency surgery due to severe Crohn's Disease. That's when my life began as an "Ostomate". I had been unwell since January 2015 and learned to knit while I was laid up. So when the Colostomy Association approached me about participating in Colostomy Day 2016 (1st October) it felt natural to knit something small that I could make a lot of to sell and raise money. I also created a Facebook Page to help tell my Stoma Story to raise awareness and reduce the Stoma Stigma. I have raised £214 as I write this. I also made some keyrings too.

    I have become quite the pro knitter (even if I say so myself!) with all this time on my hands as I am still not back on my feet. I have created much more complicated beautiful work than this but of this I am most proud!

    Other : I used coconut shell buttons for the clasp and decorated the bracelets with glass beads to make them extra special.
