I am also wondering if the yarn you used was Double Knit and whether you knitted the whole garment on a 4.00mm needle... as I see the pattern suggests changing to 5.00mm for the main body which seems large for DK yarn?
I am looking at knitting this as a tunic top to wear with tights etc. for my 5 year old grand daughter so I am interested to find yours and that you loved the pattern. I like the way the bottom edging on your one does not hang down as much as the original pattern. Did you change anything? Any hints / advice to pass on would be great. .
Hi Denise yes I did alter two things. Firstly I used 4.5mm needles instead of 5mm as the mercerised cotton 8ply I used looks much thinner than an average DK yarn. Having done this I had to adjust the armhole size to ensure enough room.
Secondly I did make the bottom lace section smaller because it's in white and for a up to 3mth baby, not wanting it to look like a formal christening dress!
Hope that helps.
