    About

Ever since making my first blanket for my daughter two years ago I wanted to crochet another one. This time I chose a superwash wool yarn. The colours are inspired by our beautiful summers in Kent - the pinks of roses and peonies in the gardens, wild orchids growing on the White Cliffs of Dover, Red Valerian on the beach , the dark and silvery foliage of the trees along the Stour....and I must have crocheted the warmth of summer into those squares during those happy hours I spent on the beach working on this blanket, because it is wonderfully warm!
The squares are a modified Sunburst Granny Square (there are several tutorials available on the internet).

Stunning colour choice. Just been down to Kent which is in stunning autumnal colours now, another blanket perhaps?
