    About

Liked the look of this, to cover my ears in the wind. Also liked the look of the yarn so thought I would give it a go. Nice and easy to follow instructions, free pattern from the website. Learnt yet another new trick - how to knit the cords - so simple!
Took half a ball, but 2 knots meant graduations went from black to white so had to wind off yarn to get a more subtle change. Wrote to lion brand who replaced the ball for free, so absolutely no complaints there!
I used my now favourite method - magic loop. Can’t be doing with dpns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 5.00mm (US 8) 80cm

    Accessories

Other : For the tassels I wound the yarn round a book about the size the pattern stated

    Measurements

Notes: One size. When I do another I will use smaller needles for a more airtight weave, plenty of room for a more snug fit

Love your work! I have just started using magic loop. There is a fantastic hat pattern I have found. Just trying out socks. Hope you enjoying retirement. I love it!

Thank you. Magic loop really is a game changer isn’t it, I never got on with dpns. I’d never made a hat until I tried the cats in the hat, now I can’t stop!
I’m enjoying all your hats - which pattern is your favourite?
Just 1 and a half days to go before I retire fully 🤗

@gillian P: The most popular is the unicorn hat. Little girls love it. If I make one I end up making at least two others. The dinosaur hat is brilliant. I love IRA Rotts patterns for character hats. I made one for Ezra (2) but he won't wear it. Maybe a little scary for him yet. I have only just started with magic loop but I so want to make some hats. I retired from nursing 4 years ago. Wonderful! Not enough hours in a day 😉

Thank you Alison, it’s my husbands favourite - for me not him! Have to admit I find it a little bit itchy, even though it is very soft yarn
