    About

    I really needed something extra snug to wrap up in during last week's snow storms and this was the result - really quick to make out of just four skeins of yarn and perfect to wear round my shoulder at home or as a scarf when out and about in the village. I didn't want too much excess fabric at the back waist, so designed the increases to create a lovely wide shawl which stays in place perfectly by gripping on to my shoulders, creating all the snuggliness in the world - perfect in the run up to Christmas!

        @Stella Ackroyd: I made "Aurelia" a few months ago in a gorgeous burnt orange / ginger sort of colour ... If you haven't seen it it's on the Aurelia pattern page ... Loved making that too!

        @Pat E: Oh dear, how did I miss that?? It is absolutely lovely and I love that colour. I love Aurelia too, it was just what I needed to slip around my shoulder in the summer when the evenings started to cool a little - hard to imagine now with these arctic temperatures! My Highland Fling is definitely being put through its paces!!

        @Stella Ackroyd: I need a shawl rather than a cardi that's easy to slip off when a "Power surge" hits my body so that's why I chose Highland Fling but Aurelia is just the right weight even on these chilly days to keep my neck warm without overheating me!
