I’m looking to crochet a weighted blanket with this product. Do you think it could be used for this type of project? Pros Cons? Other products that would make a queen size blanket that weighs about 15 lbs when finished?
Hi, It is very stretchy but I haven't tried a blanket with it. It is heavy when knitted up as a larger basket, so would be OK for weight. I have made big blankets with Caron teacakes wool and they are heavy too. I find it easier to work with because of the flow on my hook and I also like it because of the wool content. See my double bed blanket post for an example.
It depends on how heavy a blanket you want. True weighted blankets vary depending on the size of the person. I use them for therapeutic reasons as part of my job. It would be harder to vary the weight using this material as your only variable is the size.
Hope this helps. C
