I've always wanted to try a Fair Isle pattern but never had enough different shades of yarn and couldn't bring myself to buy 6 or 7 balls to do a small sweater. When I found this multi color yarn I found the perfect solution. I used 4ply so the garment would remain relatively light weight despite the stranding. I was unable to find a pattern for what I had in mind, so I used a basic cardigan pattern and created my own pattern using grid paper. While this could be either for a little girl or boy, I choose the wooden buttons as it is going to a special little fellow.
