    About

We’re going to Kangaroo Island in July, so I thought I’d need a beanie to ward off the Antarctic wind in the middle of winter! I love this book of beanie patterns - they’re quite unusual, and I’d been looking for a reason to knit one. This beanie was surprisingly quick and easy to knit, using German short rows, and although I don’t think I quite got the Kitchener stitch right at the end, you can’t really tell. I used Malabrigo yarn, one of my absolute favourites, and the hardest part of the whole project was choosing from the vast range of glorious colours!

Gorgeous! This pattern is a great choice, love the organic but modern plant forms. This worked out beautifully, lovely work, looks fabulous on. I have always wanted to go to KI, hope you had a wonderful time : )

Thanks, Heidi! KI was lovely - I highly recommend going if you ever get the chance, although more places are open in summer (the people hibernate a bit in winter). I’m really glad I took the beanie as it was very cold and windy!
