    About

This is a fun and easy pattern. I learned a new technique - how to do a cable without a cable needle. One comment about the pattern: I made the top border per the pattern directions and made 5 garter ridges. But this narrow border wants to fold towards the right side of the blanket. When I got down to the bottom border, I made 10 garter ridges and the folding problem disappeared. Now for a comment about the yarn. This yarn is a bit weird. It's cotton, but amazingly stretchy. The strand of yarn is a woven cotton cover over a polyester core. Very easy to work with, BUT I was stumped about how to gracefully join a new ball. Ended up tying knots!!!!

Very pretty. Looks complicated, but maybe not after the pattern is established. The pattern makes me think of argyle socks/sweaters.

Thank you. It really isn't tricky at all once you get into the rhythm of it, and it goes very fast once you get the hang of doing cables without a cable needle. And you can make it any size at all, just add or subtract rows of diamonds to the length or width.
