    About

This is a comfy, soft sweater. I love wearing it. I had to add an inside crochet chain for the neck to keep it from stretching and showing my bra straps. The color is a bright cobalt, and I get lots of compliments on it. I ended up with about 2 3/4 inches of garter stitch for the bottom finish. After reading other ravelers’ experiences with the pattern and doing extensive writing of the directions with my math calculations to match stitch counts to my body dimensions, I combined sizes small (the top five inches) and medium for the rest. I made lots of modifications - longer sleeves, wider garter edges on sleeves and bottom - all reflecting other Ravelers' mods.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.75mm (US 5) 30cm
    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6) 50cm

    Measurements

Notes: mods: I really like jaxie985’s (on ravelry.com) use of short rows for 6 rows on the back so that it doesn’t have the same scoop as the front. I had never done short rows before, and Interweave Knit’s “Short-Rows: The Sequel” gave me all the help I needed.

I divided sleeves from front and back at 7” instead of 8”

I did 3 decrease rows for the waist and 3 increase rounds for the hip. I plan 1” positive ease with a bust of 39 1/2J” and hip of 42.”
