    About

Made to take over to Isabelle in London in September, ready for the English winter. The colour in the photo is not quite right, it is more of a rose pink than purple. I added in the heart indent shapes found on a baby rug pattern which I also plan to make for a grandchild expected in December (So Precious Heart Patchwork Effect by Crafty Gran).

Hi Christine, the hearts come from a baby blanket pattern that I made previously for an expected new grandson, due in just 3 weeks from now. You can find it in my projects. It's called So Precious Heart Patchwork Effect Baby Blanket, by Crafty Gran. I may have made the hearts a bit smaller on the cardigan pockets, not sure, and of course, my granddaughter has the cardigan now, but you basically just do purl stitches in the middle of your knit rows and vice versa, starting with 1 purl, then 3 knit on the purl side, then 5 purl on the next knit row and so on up to 21, then 10 alternating rows of k 2 purl 21 k 2
        and p 2, knit 21, k2
        Next row k3, p 9, k1, p9, k3
        Next row p4, k 7, p3, k7, p4
        Next row k5, p5, k5, p5, k 5.

Then back to normal knitting. Hope this helps!
