    About

These were my first sweaters. They came out great. Love this pattern.
For the blue sweater I used size 9 needle on the body and size 8 needles on the cuff and bottom ribbing. I used a tubular cast on for the bottom ribbing and a tubular cast off on the cuffs. I made the sweater one inch longer in the body before armhole shaping.
The yellow sweater I used size 8 needles and size 7 needles on the ribbing. I did not make this one an inch longer.
If you can use the tubular cast on/off it makes the sweater look just wonderfully more professional.

I forgot to add that you'll need double pointed needles for the arms.

Also, I designed my own hats. Was not a fan of the hat in pattern.

The third sweater was made for my second Grandson (!) with Cascade Superwash Merino. I used size 8 needles. It was so soft after washing and blocking.

What a great looking cardigan for boys. It seems to be harder to find nice patterns for boys. Thank you for all the details about the knitting of the cardigan. I was particularly interested to read about 'tubular cast on/off' as I had not heard of this before. I have had a look at some videos on you tube and would like to give it a try sometime as I always have trouble with the cast on and offs being on the tight side. A little while ago I taught myself how to do a stretchy cast off from you tube which worked well, but this looks so neat and tidy as well as being stretchy.

I highly recommend the tutorial videos from verypink.com .
That's how I learn so many things.

Thank you for the compliments. The hats were made with a cable cast on or a long tail cast on.
