Border Collie Cowl

I made this for myself (to keep my neck warm during chilly morning dog walks).

    About

This is my first attempt at intarsia color work. Most of this cowl was made with a stranded (Fair Isle) technique. I attempted to substitute a Border Collie for the alpaca on the original pattern. And... I now know that intarsia does NOT work well on a piece that is knit in the round! 2017 is my year to teach myself how to 'knit in color' (with multiple strands of different color yarns). My results on this cowl weren't perfect, but I learned a lot. Also, it earned me a big kiss from my Border Collie (see photo).
