    About

Found this pattern booklet in a used book store and was immediately drawn to this pattern. The puff stitches really make it, I think. The repeated motifs would lend themselves well to many different projects.

Hi Sue. Unfortunately, I only have this pattern in hard copy. I'm not certain of the publication date, but am reluctant to reproduce the pattern given copyright. However, I will do some research to see if I can locate a copy online for you. It is a great pattern!

Good news: Another person has already shared the booklet with this pattern on the internet archive at https://archive.org/. (Search for "patons 649" in the title field in advanced search.) Happy stitching!

@Paula R: I have printed the pattern and tried it yesterday but I only had DK yarn, found it a bit bulky so I need to clear some stash of DK and will try it with the 4ply in a few months. I haven't been doing crochet for very long and still learning so quite a challenge for me, I shall look forward to it.

@Sue: Good luck with this Sue. You could try the pattern with DK yarn and a larger hook - the blanket will just work out to be bigger (and a bit thicker/bulkier). Once you've done one or two squares of the pattern, you will quickly get the hang of it. Have fun, and let me know how you get on.

Thanks, Maggie! I am happy with the way it turned out; and apparently so is the mum-to-be!
