    I've been keen on making a baby blanket for ages but haven't had a baby to crochet for as most of my family now have teenagers and they aren't quite ready for babies. So when a young lady who i work with announced her news i took the opportunity to make a blanket. The pattern I've chosen isn't for a baby blanket so I've used dk instead of Aran weight yarn and one size smaller hook. I intend on making a hat to go with it. The pattern is supposed to be a beginner pattern but the joining round has actually been quite hard to interpret and deliver. I've got it now but I'm still not convinced its how the pattern tells you how to do it !
