Family member is having twin boys. I am creating two blankets with same colors but different starting point. Here is one in the process of blocking.
Update: second blanket was finished a month later. See pictures for comparison. Babies were born in May.
I am very jealous of your results. I have had one go at making this blanket but got into difficulty with the yarn over stitches created on the purl side - when I then moved to the K side I found it difficult to identify the yarn that was the real stitch. I might try again sometime.
I have interlocking square mats made of dense foam. You may find them as blocking mats for knitting, but I am using the ones that go on the floor used in gyms or for children spaces. I used also t-pins to pin in place. You might notice that I first layered a towel to absorb the water too.
