    About

I wanted to knit a large throw for my caravan and love knitting Aran designs. Didn't want to knit in one piece as the work gets so heavy to handle so this pattern was perfect for me as it was knitted in small sections. The pattern was for one colour but I liked the idea of using 4 colours that coordinated. I used Hayfield Bonus Aran 400g, the colours Barley, Purple Heather, Alpine and Light Natural. I also made the throw larger than the pattern by adding an extra row along one edge. I found it easy to knit, my tension was perfect for the pattern (which was amazing!) and I blocked each section before sewing up. I didn't knit the border as on the pattern, it should have been a long strip with mitred corners which is sewn on around the throw. Instead I picked up the stitches with a circular needle along each edge which made the edging neater than if it had been sewn on. I would make this again.

    Measurements

Notes: The pattern was for one size but I added an extra row along one edge to make it bigger. On my photograph it is laid on a double bed so the measurements are approximately 54" x 64"
