    About

This is the start of the Amanzi square by Jen Tyler, I am just about to start on the corner placement . A really well written pattern, not my usual colour combo, but I really like it , this is where I decide to either make a cushion or carry on for a throw, I think it deserves to be a throw , as the pattern is quite open in places, and I am enjoying it too much to stop ! Well been at this a couple of weeks now, But it’s really worth the effort, can’t wait to start the next project by Jen Tyler.

Oh Linda this is fabulous. Go for the throw, it is too special for anything less. I see I have found Susan Carlson her use of colour is fantastic

This has so far been a lovely absorbing pattern to work, l am going to make the throw, as the centre is a bit too open in my opinion for a cushion, and I am liking the journey. Susan Carlson s colour pallet is stunning, some of her designs are on all free crochet.com. How r your dinosaur 🦕 eggs coming on, ? And cosmic of course, oh my , there is so much out there I want to do.

@Linda L: am having to adapt egg pattern not quite big enough I don't think so will add in a few more rows. Think I learnt C2C from Susan Carlson. I do love her use of colour. I think I may join you on Karoo. Still on first row of part 9 on cosmic v boring!!! That's how I made dinosaurs and eggs ;)

@Vix: I am going to be firm, ha ha, and finish Amanzi throw, before I start Karoo, we are staying in our caravan for the majority of the school holidays, not much to do except crochet (shame I know) so hopefully by September I will have finished it. Then I shall send for Karoo, maybe we can crochet along together?

@Linda L: Use up oddments, me 🤣. I am afraid that I always feel the need to buy more. I have two stashes anyway one in storage and the second one I bought because my first is in storage. Logical huh? Ican't start anything until I have finished Cosmic and half made ...... Can't remember its name it is by Jane Crowfoot. I would probably start with Pondoland. I tend to go for brights I love the one you did. I don't usually go with prescribed colours. Tbh I haven't looked at the pattern yet and maybe it would be good to look at ones she has done it in takes me out of my comfort zone

@Vix: I do try to use up oddments, but then I always have to go buy more cos there is always another few colours wanted , been to our local shop today and bought more colours for Amanzi, I am going with jens colour palette but have jiggled it a bit. Am just having a G& T on the deck so anything could happen colour wise . 😂

@Linda L: Sounds good to me! Well that would be strange ending up as near neighbors! I have been to Woodbridge once about 35yrs ago. The ex went for a job there. I think I may try going with one of her colour palettes. Live dangerously that's what I say 🤞

@Vix: well they say it’s a small world,( strange more like ) . It’s nice to try something different, I almost always end up going for lilac mauve purple pinks and blue girlie colours if you like , I would never have chosen the ones she suggested, but they work so well together, I am making flowers 💐 in the middle of already completed rows and then bobbles , ( help )!!

@Linda L. I go for turquoise, aquas and greens. I usually go for very subtle colours pistachio, old rose, taupe or mad bright stuff.

@Linda L: Nah, decided not to do the plain stripes in the blanket; stuck to joining the granny squares (all 12) and used a striped border instead. The doily was a bit tricky as the pattern had some mistakes...helps to know how to fix them though!

@Dell F: it’s so frustrating when you get a faulty pattern, and clever of you to put it right.
