    Measurements

Notes: Used a provisional cast on.

Added 6 rows (3 garter ridges) to the straight section of the ear flaps as in this project because they seemed a little too pointy as written. Glad I did because I needed the extra length - think the circumference would have been too small otherwise.

Had to knit across an extra row to keep the Kitchener graft in pattern - used the “grafting reversed garter stitch” section of this tutorial.

    Picked up 90 sts.

Knit to just over 5 inches from cast on before decreasing.

    Decreases:
    K13, k2tog around.
    Knit 2 rounds plain
    K12, k2tog around
    Knit 2 rounds plain
    K11, k2tog around
    Knit 1 round plain

Continue until k8, k2tog, then start decreasing every round.

(in hindsight, might have been better to start the decreases a couple of rows earlier)
