    About

Charlotte is taking ballet classes and, as the oldest sister, she is much imitated by her younger siblings. They all wanted ballerina sweaters so they could practice their twirls together.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.00mm (US 2.5) 60cm
    • Double Point 3.00mm (US 2.5)

    Measurements

Notes: I used the “vintage” Leisure Arts Leaflet #159 and referenced Staci Perry’s Toddler Pullover - 3 Ways pattern for more modern chest measurements and used the length from the original pattern. This resulted in a very nice fit with good growing room on all three girls - size 5/6 for the older girl and size 3 for both younger girls.

The duplicate stitch pattern is from “1000 Great Knitting Motifs” by Luise Roberts. Thanks to Staci for your very instructive video on duplicate stitch which can be found on Staci’s website verypink.com.

Drops Extra Fine Merino DK is a wonderful yarn to work with and the children love the soft and cozy feel. The sweaters were soaked in Eucalan and blocked and then washed in the machine after to see how they weathered the “superwash” claim. They scored 100% - no shrinkage or bleeding and I dried on very low heat for about 10 minutes before laying out flat to dry.
