    About

I won a contest on the loveknitting.com blog with this design! I'm excited to offer my pattern of this sweet hat that is quick and easy with a little bit of stranded color work to keep it interesting. The rolled brim makes it very versatile in size. The four sizes offered can be altered further by making the brim shorter or longer, or using lighter or heavier yarn with smaller or larger needles. The gauge is forgiving, as the hat stretches nicely. The directions are for any sport weight yarn - just be sure it will be comfy on a baby's head. I love the softness of MillaMia Merino and Cotton, and have also used Debbie Bliss' Baby Cashmerino for a real decadent treat! You can get one hat out of a skein, with leftovers. Using the same brand and especially weight of yarn for the lobster is recommended, but you only need a little bit of it and I've used leftovers from my stash in a pinch with acceptable results. You'll need a set of US 2 DPNs (or size to obtain gauge) and 6 stitch markers.
